Summer Beauty Tips

Many women want to have “the look” for the season. They want to be in style. For summer you not only want to look in style, you want to stay cool. Many of us know that summertime is the time for frizzy hair and melting makeup. Get your look under control this summer to look your best.

One of the biggest “looks” this summer is a return to the eighties. We know the eighties is all about being bold and brights. Look for great retro fun retro colors and especially the metallics. Add eighties touches into your style as you feel they would look best.

To “cool” your summer look, try these five easy tips for lovely summer beauty:

Switch to lipgloss. Those heavy lipsticks feel so sticky and gloppy on your lips during the summertime. Summer just screams for lipgloss time. You have so many options now, as the big department store brands and even the less expensive brands today all make great lipglosses for you to select from. A great tip is to go a shade or two darker than you usually wear to get a similar look you liked from your crème lipstick.

Slather on the sunscreen. This should actually be something most of us should do year-round, but in the summertime, it becomes a must-do for many parts of the country. Protect yourself from the sun’s rays. Your skin will look younger and you’ll protect yourself from potential sun damage. Sunscreen takes only a minute to put on but its affects are felt for your lifetime.

Try leave-in conditioner for your hair. For many of us summer means frizzy hair that goes out of control. Consider adding a leave-in conditioner to your hair to keep the frizzies easily at bay. This may not be makeup, but it will certainly have your whole face and look be much more attractive.

Add a hat and/or sunglasses to your summer look. You can find summer hats and sunglasses that will appeal to every fashion look and style. This is a great way to create your own signature look for summer, by adding sunglasses and a hat. Vintage sunglasses are especially popular, but if you choose these be sure to add UVA and UVB protective lenses to the frames for today’s protection from the sun.

Ease up on the eye makeup. The “dark eye” is not a summer look. Try lash-extending makeup and a bold sweep of eye shadow for a pretty look for summer. You want to draw attention to your eyes, not to make them look out of place.

Summer is a fun season and the look for summer is fun and light. There are so many styles you can easily wear and have fun!
